Feb 2018 – Numbers are a funny thing! You can make such a clear judgement about some, but others take more time to decipher and understand what they mean and what the consequences really are. This month is all about numbers!

Resolutions & solutions for 2018
Jan 2018 – Welcome to 2018. No doubt your New Year resolutions have been finely sculpted in your mind and your body is already beginning to see the benefits!
Looking back on 2017
December 2017 – Welcome to this month’s reflections of College news and events. A month indeed to look back on 2017 and touch on some of the real highlights that have marked the College calendar as well as noting the ongoing battles that we face.
An EM workforce for the next decade
November 2017 – Firstly, by the time you read this I hope you will be reflecting on what will have been an excellent 50th anniversary celebration of our great specialty. We hope that many of you were able to participate in some way and that you captured some great memories.
Marking 50 years of EM
Oct 2017 – Historic moments in time tumble all too regularly it seems into our lives in different ways. Yet for us in Emergency Medicine in the UK and Ireland this month can be viewed truly as one we should spend a few moments in order to savour, reflect and also to look forward.
Predicting the future
Sept 2017 – Predicting the future has always been a tricky business as events of the last 12 months or so have proven. Writing this blog requires a small modicum of peering into the future (by about 4-6 weeks or so) but I try hard to stick to the facts I am fairly certain about.
Get involved in our Golden Jubilee celebrations
August 2017 – August is of course a month of holidays, heat (even in Yorkshire!) and the heady atmosphere of welcoming the most junior doctors into the joys of working with us in the Emergency Department.
Celebrating excellence!
July 2017 – Celebrating excellence is the key theme of the next few months! Mainly because there is so much to tell and enthuse you about that I thought it would be good to focus purely on celebration – the why, how, what and where!
Paying tribute to those involved in recent events
July 2017 – None of us can fail to have been affected by the events of the past month in Manchester and London. The terrorist events and the awful tragedy at Grenfell Tower have brought out the very worst and yet also the very, very best of humanity.
Catching our breath and gradually progressing plans
June 2016 – Much to tell from the corridors of London and other places I have managed to visit in the past month! A real highlight was the trip to Belfast to join Northern Irish colleagues at their Annual Meeting.
